Vermont: For the holidays
Vermont: Sugar State This amazing journey throughout the east coast turned Willy Wonka's fantasy into reality. Landing us in Montpellier, Vermont our trip took a drastic turn from "awesome to sweet."
The Morse Family Farm is located on the outermost side of Montpellier but a site well worth the drive. Read more about this trip.... Maybe a drive well worth the sight as the scenic route to the farm provided beautiful landscapes with open meadows and maple trees. Written all over them was the promise of maple syrup; ripe for the pickin' because the maple season is from March to May when the maple sap starts to move towards the top of the tree while we move towards the syrup shop.

Hog Island retreat
It's been especially warm this Fall period and we are a family that doesn't want to miss out on an opportunity to take advantage of the balmy nights and warm sunny days, especially here on the northern coast where the weather can be fickle. We set off on a back roads Sunday drive towards Tomales. Out among the rolling hills and cow strew pastures, my youngest daughter suggested we make a short detour to Tomales and the Hog Island Oyster company for some lunch.
